Kim Nang-Hee

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the factor structure of the Korean Version of BTI that is measured of barriers to treatment among the substance abusers. The data for this study were collected on 649 drug users from 27 agencies using nonprobable purposive sampling. The factor structure analysis of BTI-K examined through the confirmatory factor analysis(CFA), exploratory factor analysis(EFA), and comparing models. The range of reliability of BTI-K(7 factors) was .786¢¦.898 indicated that BTI-K has good reliability. The result of CFA identified the BTI-K of 7-factor structure has acceptable construct validity for assessing barriers to treatment among Korean drug users. On the other hand, EFA outputs described 4-factor structure was appropriate. Finally, after comparing competing models, the 7-factor structure was the best model to explain barriers to treatment among Korean drug users. The results indicate that the BTI-K has good reliability and validity, it would be useful measurement to assess the drug abusers¡¯ characteristics in clinical and correctional service settings.
